Can I get pregnant if I forget to take my birth control pills on time? |
I started taking Loestrin 24 on June 24, 2007. My period lasted for nearly 3 1/2 weeks. During that time, my partner and I had unprotected sex once. I have finished the pack on birth control pills; however, I have not taken them on time. There have been times when I missed two or three pills in row. Could I be pregnant? I don't have any symptoms except fatigue. YES the birth control pill works by stopping you from producing your egg. The advice that I give is to try to take it the same time every day.If you miss 1 then take 2 the next day.If you miss more than 2 you are not safe that month. Stop taking the pill now BUT YOU MUST use other contraception as well.If your period is late wait 7 days do pregnancy test.If your period arrives then start a new pack of pills as though you were starting the pill for the first time.Attach you pills to your toothbrush.Clean teeth-take pill-less likely to forget Source(s): doctor yes. I got pregnant and I ALWAYS took mine at the right time! mum to beautiful 11 month old :) How old are you? Leave your clothes on and your legs crossed untill you are old enough to figure out whats going on in your body without using a computer. Have you talked with your mother? Did your "partner" give you a Ring yet or ask you to Marry him? He doesn't give a Rats patoot if he can have all the candy without paying for it! GROW UP! yes. you should probably get a pregnancy test =/ besides, birth control doesn't always work. Yes. You have got to take it every single day at the same time. If you're off an hour or so, you're probably OK, but your doctor should have gone over this with you. I have a great doctor who went over every little detail with me and when I forgot to take the first 2 pills of my most recent pack I knew I had to be very VERY carful because she had warned me. I ended up taking Plan B as a precaution and now I'll be using a barrier for the rest of the month as a precaution. The pill works by using hormones to trick your body into thinking you're already pregnant. In other words it stops ovulation (or is supposed to, nothing's perfect, my mom had a tubal ligation before she got preggers with me). So it's VERY important to keep the supply of hormones consistant, otherwise your body will go "Oh, false alarm, I can go ahead and ovulate now." If it's too hard for you to remember, talk to your doctor about some other method like an injection. |
