What should I eat before blood donation? |
I am donating blood on Friday. I normally eat liver and spinach to boost my iron levels, but I really dislike liver. Are there any other good foods to boost my iron level for me? Power bars, milk, iron and vitamin pills dude. I've done once and the nurse told me that the amount of blood taken be soon substituted but some of its content (blood platelet or whatever; sorry my memory is shady so i ain't being accurate) won't be fully substituted for 3 months or so. I know when you give blood they give you Orange juice.Just look online at the new food pyramid, it will tell you what veggies are high in iron.You can also get some Ovaltine, that has lots of vitamins in it. That's really sweet. It doesn't matter what you eat. You are really cool for donating blood. Well eat more of foods rich in Iron, and potassium too, you can get them form leafy green vegtables like bitter gourd leaves, water cress leaves, mustanrd leaves and malunggay leaves, and bananas because it is rich in potassium, nothing chemical yet like viatmins rich in iron ok..use as much natural foods you can...good luck and I admire your big heart and dedication for this purpose..good luck! |

If you go to a school, talk to your principal or guidence councler to start posting signs around to encourage it, or send home letters for your parents. Go to a WalMart or something and post signs.... I think you need to personalize it for people - it gets them motivated. Around 50% of people will need a blood transfusion in their lifefime and yet only about 3% donate blood. Ask your audience h... they will do it after the cord is cut and it wont stop pulsating until its cut but that why they put the clamps so it will stop where they r cutting it ...Yes, I give blood as much as I can. It's the easiest way to help people, it costs you nothing but a little time. ...You should not need a good excuse. The people who have bothered you about giving blood feel that they are trying to do a good thing ( and they are ), unfortunately, they don't believe in "... Hepatitis A - you cannot donate blood if you have had hepatitus A in the last 12 monthts. You can't donate because you can infect the person who receives your blood, and since that person is ...
