Can blood donation to the Red Cross be used as a tax deduction? |
I donate blood several times a year. It seems to me that my blood is worth more than a financial donation because it saves people's lives. I don't think you can use it as a tax deduction, but I wanted to make sure. No, as of now it is not considered a tax write off. You can deduct charitable mileage to and from the blood bank. your a as* hole Wartz's answer is correct. sorry but although you feel your blood is worthy the government doesn't look at it like that Even though you can't deduct the value of blood given to a blood bank, you should look into whether you can deduct the mileage for this charitable contribution. |
