Blood donation symptom? |
I donated blood at my school today. My arm was really sore, and i just took the bandage off. Right next to the needle site, there is a lump, a little smaller than a dime, filled with blood. It is very sensitive and hurts at the slightest touch. Is this common? Will i be alright? I just realized that its actually swollen a great bit, it is only red in one area, though. Put a band-aid and a small dab of antibiotic ointment on it. It should start feeling better tomorrow. There may be some bruising that should go away in about a week. The bruise may even expand. You have a hematoma. If you ice your arm every couple of hours..the blood will break down and the swelling will go down as well. Sometimes those just happen....they are common. You will be fine in a couple of days. Thanks for being a donor! |
