Please help me :[ Blood donation and self-injury? |
So my school is having an end of the year blood drive and I would love to participate. However, the last time the school had a blood drive and I donated was last year - which was before I started the whole habit of cutting / burning myself. I love donating, I think it's an amazing experience and a great way to help out ... but I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to anymore? And if I am, will they ask questions? My scars are somewhat recent, they aren't faded or anything but they're not cuts anymore ... Basically, I would just like to hear about what you think will happen. Do you have any experience with this, will they allow me to donate, will they ask me a lot of questions? I would appreciate anything you could tell me about the subject. Thank you so much. :] If you don't have open wounds/infection you don't have a problem. They'll ask you what happened, just have something rehearsed. "it's a long story" works...or make a joke like I do "Oh, those...I got in a fight with a porcupine believe it or not" They will as long as there are no new scars, they are just scared about hep b and c because they don't know what you used to cut. They won't care about old scars. |
