How to increase the amount of blood generated by my body after a blood donation?

Eat and Drink something after giving blood

vitamin c such as oranges

drink milk, and eat grapes

Drink plenty of liquids and juices like orange, eat beets and other beneficial foods.
I've been giving blood for over 40 years and I really feel better after giving.
This is not an ad to give but it really seems to make me feel better.

The same way you make breathing and heart beating happen. Let it be. Mind your own business. Your body knows what to do.

Hello,

All you need to do is make sure that you eat a diet rich in iron, - it's your iron that you lose some of, when you donate blood. Well done, by the way :)

If you want to be absolutely sure, you could take an iron-and-vitamin-C tablet, just a 'supplement' type, one a day. (If you get a doctor's iron tablet, it will turn your motions black). The Vitamin C isn't essential, it just helps the absorbtion of iron from the tummy.

Hope this helps a bit. Belliger (retired UK GP)

It will just take a little time for your body to naturally regenerate that blood after a donation. Plasma regenerates in 24 hrs and red blood cells in about 3 weeks or so. You can help build your volume by drinknig plenty of fluids and eating foods high in iron.

Thanks for donating blood!

The body does that automatically by itself. All the other things just make you feel better. Here are foods that restore he amount of haemoglobin in your red blood cells, as well as the number of red blood cells
Red meat is the richest source of iron. The iron in animal sources is absorbed easily by the body.
There is also iron in legumes (such as lentils and beans), dried fruit, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds, and in fortified breakfast cereals. The iron in these foods is not so easily absorbed by the body.

Start with orange juice, then drink plenty of water.
