take into consideration Acts 15:19,20

It is true that the Bible tells us not to eat blood, it also never uses the word transfuse...it didn't happen then. However, in Acts it does say to abstain from blood. That includes ALL forms of putting blood into your body...eat, drink, tranfuse, etc.

If you or others feel this is only a JW view, go to noblood.com and you'll see it is for more than JW's. Search on google non blood surgery and you'll learn blood transfusions are old school. Medicine has grown to have MANY, MANY other options than blood to save a life. Blood is the first option because it's easy and brings in the most money. Research that as well. You'll also see many doctors themselves won't take blood because of other reasons than religion.

People didn't use blood transfusions during the biblical days.

What the Bible says is the least of your worries when you're dying and you need blood.

The bible doesn't say anything but there are a lot of cases where the blood of the people weren't checked and became diseased!

The Bible says that we are not to DRINK blood. However, transfusions are never mentioned. How could they be? They did not even exist yet. As well, blood transfusions are safe as long as the blood types are matched properly.

From a Medical PERSPECTIVE.... NOT AT.... "ALL!"

There is NO Principle in the Word... about Blood Transfusions... to save LIFE!

BUT...... those having Surgery.... can ... "BANK their Own Blood... for Surgery!"

The AIDS.... Virus... is A Continually MUTATING.... Virus... and the Current Blood TEST.... is Not Very Accurate!

Only in the Rarest Cases.... would one Need Blood for Surgery!

D5W... OR... RINGERS LACTATE.... will suffice! Oh yes there is a Blood Substitute... being tested NOW....by the FDA!

Now it is relatively safe, but some slip ups have been reported. There was a pt who had sickle cell and got transfusions before blood was tested. She died of AIDS. Blood is tested in the US and other leading countries, but in other countries it is not. The demand for blood over rides the necessity to test it for diseases. I saw a docu that said in some Asian villages blood is sold and people sell their blood to live. They are then infected because sterilization isn't used. Sad but true.

The Bible does not speak to this.

I had a heart valve replaced a couple years ago. My doctor advised me to find people "I trusted" to donate blood at the Red Cross specifically for me. I did. I went to my church and ask for donations-I was flooded with volunteers that I know had clean blood. All the blood was good.

Do I think that "off the shelf" blood is safe? I don't know. My doctor did not think so!
