Is blood used for transfusions in turkish hospitals checked for infections and diseases?

not sure, even if they say it is it may not be. i used to live in middle east and u had to have aids test for visa purposes, there were rumours that if u were western they just thru it away and said u were ok as the test was expensive. there u were allowed to donate blood for a relatve so this may be an idea if compatible.

It is regular procedure for blood to be tested for infectious diseases. In any part of the world . There is no real guarantee that it is so in the Turkish hospitals.

Certainly should be. Turkey is a well developed country, and it's healthcare system is of a reasonable standard. Screening for HIV, hepatitis etc etc is standard practice, although the procedures might not be quite as rigorous as in the Uk for instance. The technology might also be a few years behind.

But is essence, it is safe to get a transfusion in Turkey. You'd have to be spectacularly unlucky to catch anything (appreciate that wouldn't make you feel any better if you did!)
