Explain why a person with type A+ blood should not be given a transfusion of type B+ blood?

Explain why a person with type A+ blood should not be given a transfusion of type B+ blood?

blood A+ has antigen A on it's blood cell while blood B+ has antigen B on it's blood cell.
if an individual with blood A+ is infused with blood B+, the body would immediately sense a foreign sunstance and would want to get rid of it.
in this case, the body would make an anti B antibody to kill the B antigens. this would cause blood clot (agglutination) because antibodies tend to stick to antigens which could lead to death.

Becouse the surface of the B+ red cells have diferent antigens on the red cells to the A+ antigens

A antigens are fatal for people with B blood, and vice versa. O means no antigens, and O blood type people can only take O blood. If you have AB blood, you can take A, B, AB, or O blood. If you have A blood, you can take A or O. If you have B blood, you can take B or O.

In addition, the + or - means if an RH factor is present. Negative people can only take negative blood. Positive people can take either. Over 85% of the population has positive blood.
