Why won't some religions people who believe in Jesus have blood transfusions ?

Did not Jesus died that we may live and have eternal life
did he not shed his blood that all may live? Are we not heeled by his blood.
Are we not call to be more like Jesus ?
So why won't these people have a blood transfusion ? after all its going to safe their life.

I was told by a jehovahs witness that it is due to an interpretation of part of the bible that says that you should not consume the blood of others, and they see a blood transfusion as consuming someone elses blood.

But truly, do give blood if you can. the way i see it, if you would be prepared to receive blood if you ever need it, then you should be prepared to donate if you are able. UK currently experiencing massive shortages of donor blood. not enough blood = people dying unnecessarily.

So much so that the Bible book of Leviticus set down the procedure for sacrificing an animal and exactly what to do with the blood. Clearly, God considers blood sacred. As to medical uses, many doctors and hospitals around the world, see the benefits of surgery without the use of blood transfusions. For example, many people have contracted many serious diseases through blood transfusions; diseases that didn't appear in tests of donated blood. Now, about death from refusing transfusions: if all other possible medical procedures are applied successfully, great! However, if death should occur, Jehovah God promises He will resurect those who have remained faithful to him. Sometimes promises made by people are not very belivable. But a promise made by God we can always count on 100%! I sincerely hope that people who can think and reason on their own, would not believe things like what has been posted above and below. Jehovah's people know full well the penality for changing, or adding to, the Bible. This we have NOT and would NEVER do. This person has no proof of her allegations. The same is true of anyone else who attacks the integrity of Jehovah's Witnesses today. We all know that 2 Cor. 4 says "If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4聽among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through. 5聽For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as YOUR slaves for Jesus鈥?sake. 6聽For God is he who said: 鈥淟et the light shine out of darkness,鈥?and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate [them] with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ. Most Preachers, Reverends, Pastors, Rabbis, Priests and other religious leaders know that we speak the truth of the Bible. However, if everyone they are supposedly teaching were to realize this, they would be out of work. That's why they spread such malicious lies and slander about Jehovah's people. Talk about job security! In spite of all of this, Jehovah's Witnesess are not seeking vengeance. In fact we willing accept abuse and persecution that comes in Jehovah's name or Jesus' name. Unless a person is qualified as executioner of vengeance by appointment of Jehovah, or by being designated as such by his Word, he does wrong if he attempts to avenge himself or others. 鈥淰engeance is mine, and retribution,鈥?says Jehovah. (De 32:35) God is addressed by the psalmist: 鈥淥 God of acts of vengeance, Jehovah.鈥?(Ps 94:1) Accordingly, the individual is condemned by God if he bears a grudge or seeks personal vengeance for real or fancied wrongs done to himself or to someone else.鈥擫e 19:18; Ro 12:19; Heb 10:30.

Sweetie, some people just have to take something really simple and confuse the issue so that you will need them to explain it to you (and just incidentally pay them for doing so) others, desperate for attention, approval, or whatever latch onto some obscure sentence and try to build a religion out of it. Jesus said " I would that you had life, and had it in abundance" He knew firsthand how hard life here is, He took the worst it had to offer. If you read his teachings in NIV or some translation that can be understood, everything is so simple. None of the off-the wall, bizarre things people come up with are in Jesus's words. so, My suggestion to you, would be to just study the word, and let the folks who want to complicate it do so without you. the short answer is that Acts 15:28,29 clearly states to stay away from blood
To God blood represents life, and he is the only one w/ the right to give or take

Now just because we dont allow blood transfusions doesnt mean we dont seek medical help. We accept many other treatments and methods that help us in case of medical emergencies.

Medical update:
Blood ain麓t save. There exists the "diagnostic gap", inside which virus-infections can麓t be detected, be it HIV, be it "just" an incurable hepatits. This gap can be easily 6 months long.

People who refuse blood are REGULARLY quicker out of hospital and don麓t risk in-curable infections.

I have also wondered; they do not accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, as the Redeemer for our sins when He shed His blood for our redemption being that they see Jesus as a little god, the devil's half-brother, an angle, a prophet and not the Lamb of God---Jn. 1:29, the Alpha and Omega---Jn. 3:2, The way, the truth, and the life-----Jn. 14:6, Only Begotten Son of God----Jn. 3:16, True Witness----Rev. 3:14, Everlasting Father---Is. 9:6. In addition, the Bible tells us that life is in the blood so why not give part of ones blood to save another?
I see it more of a ritual idea to emphasis their idea/belief to be one strong in their ideation.

These people has they own belief,and they changed the Bible, God tells us not to add any thing, nor take any thing away from the Bible, and they did, they Bible is completely different,, here is what the lord says what will happen to some one that changes His words,Revelation 22&18,19, "FOR I Testify unto every man that heareth the words of the Prohhecy of this Book, , If any Man Shall ADD, unto these things God shall add unto him , the Plagues that are written in this Book, :: And if any man Shall TAKE- Away from the words of the Book of this Prophecy, God Shall take away his part, OUT of the BOOK of LIFE, and OUT of the HOLY-CITY, and from the things which are written in this Book. Read Also, John 10&35, Isaiah40&8:-55&11 and Jeremiah 23&28. So, each person has is /her own belief, ia'm a christian, and i treat all of God people with the respect, we all deserve, but, the Bible say God is Love and He is life, and came to give us Eternal life, , He also, says that if we are sick, we need to pray, and to pray for one another, and if you are sick, that it is an emergency, then we go to the doctor, one of, Jesus- Christ, disciples was aPhysician, i think it was Luke( a Doctor with a License to practice medicine), so i don't see the point, why some of them refuse to go see a Doctor, yes i read my Bible, and ia'm aware about Blood, and Blood transfusion, and it has save a lot's of human life, so if you belief , in this or what ever your belief is , then you stick to it, and read, your Bible , and listen to your heart, God is not a God of Confussion, but a Lord of Love. Ahh, the JW's. They are taking something God said about not letting another person's blood be in your body... or something to that effect. Of course, God was talking about drinking someone else's blood. As always, they take it out of context.

God made everything including the devil, you are allowed to ponder and use everything in goodness only. If they choose to die instead of being helped by what is a mercy and blessing that is their choice.

They are called jehovahs witness they don't do much really not even celebrate birthdays or anything.

They are ignorant sheeple who follow a cult.

Because its against their beliefs?
