Blood transfusions or iron shots???

who would prefer to get a shot than a transfusion...what hurts more...im anemic to the point that the doctor will send me to the hospital for blood transfusions...i told her that i dont have a ride to go every day for 7 days to the office i cant find anybody i asked everyone i knew and nothing and i also asked if they can give me the shot at home but at home they dont like to and are scared to do it lol and i also dont trust them. how long are blood transfusions...?

Hello! Well the pain is about the same. Its like a shot, you get the prick of the needle and thats that. Each has advatages. The shot is quick, you're in, you're out, done! But the transfusion lasts a lot longer and you feel WONDERFUL!

Look, whichever one you do, you have to do it. Dont mess around, dont dilly dally with "I dont trust them" or "Im too scared"...suck it up and do it. You have to do it for the baby (I assume you are pregnant because this is in the pregnancy section). That baby needs iron now and you fiddling around making a choice is not good for your baby. Just hold out your arm and dont look. If you are scared of the pain, dig your nails into your other hand or leg so you concentrate on that pain instead.

This is serious. No playing around. DO IT! Catch the bus, walk, whatever, just do it.

I was a at a level two out of about sixteen, (normal is about 12), and I had iron treatments, they hooked me up to an iv and just pretty much gave me iron. That wasn't when I was pregnant though.
