If a blood transfusion is given too quickly, ie 2 hours instead of 4 hours, is there any reaction or side effe The only side effect I have ever heard of from giving over 2h is a little bit of tingling or burning in the arm it is given in. The other side effects are from what's in the blood. Giving blood over 2 h is not going to put them into fluid overload unless they have other IVs in the other arm going at the same time--and it is usually hospital protocol to not let that happen. yes. your head can swell to the size of a small beachball. doesn't hurt until they pop it... lliproyle>'s Profile" href="/my/profile;_ylt=AmfIumn340Eugqs0FyCL95_kxQt.?show=7a8da481bb25690de2fbba09f9c34f11aa"> by http://www.rch.org.au/bloodtrans/adverse...http://www.trauma.org/resus/massive.html... |
