What can be passed to me from a blood transfusion? |
I have Narcolepsy that was diagnosed after having my child.(i had the blood transfusion when she was born)I have MVP. I have not felt good since she was born,I was very sick apon receiving the transfusion..3 bags of O+...all this took place 3 ys ago..now I FEEL FUNNY,loose my balance, run into walls,my bottom left rib feels broken or something is on top of it..when i MOVE ALOT IT sends a burning feeling dwon my left side,I run out of breath,I rash on my legs and belly, cant shave my legs alot b/c it burns more,my face burns, left eye twitch, pain spells in elbows knees, fingers, hands, teeth,I feel lumps on my legs and hips that feel bruised, hard to get comfy..red hands, veins protrude and burn...what the hell is going on...??I lost 10 lbs in 1 week and I know its not provigil b/c i have been taking it for 2-3 yrs now....please help.... Their blood screening is not always acurate. Its a shame they push blood transfusions so much when there are so many other options,Blood expanders-ect. Im not shure what is wrong but i hope all is well. Thanks..Im getting a liver check very soon..:) I'm a nurse. the nurse has some good valid points.....however, i would also like to advise you on diseases that can actually cause you to be misdiagnosed with narcolepsy and the main one would be hepatitis c- a liver disease that can go undiagnosed because standard liver panel tests do not always indicate there is a problem. anotherwords, your alt and ast levels can remain uneffected and you can still have chronic hepatitis c. i have been given provigil AFTER treatment for hcv to deal with "brain fog" which i had for 20 years prior to treatment....which is like narcolepsy of some sort, or at least mimics it. I can't tolerate the medication because I noticed the day after not taking one i was a blubbering idiot. Anyway. I would definately get tested for antibodies for HCV as it can cause CNS disorders as well as every symptom you've got now. I wouldn't wait, I'd ask the doctors. Have them test you regardless if your liver enzymes are within normal limits....this is one reason why so many get treated for symptoms instead of the actual causative agent: HCV. good luck! I know the feeling! riss-hepatitis c objectives |
