If someone has Leukaemia....why can't he undergo a complete blood transfusion and be cured?

If someone has Leukaemia....why can't he undergo a complete blood transfusion and be cured?

Because Leukemia isn't just cancer "of the blood", it's cancer affecting the tissues that create blood cells - like bone marrow.

I only wish it were as simple as a transfusion!

See this link below for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/leukemia...
I think its because Leukimia isn't just a disease of the blood, its disease in the bone marrow, where all the blood cells are made. So even if a person had a blood transfusion, their blood marrow would still be creating bad blood.

I could be wrong. ><
Because the root cause isn't the blood. It is usually in the bone marrow where blood is manufactured.
I remember asking the doctor the same exact thing. I forget what he said but I know I was never the same after.
