Breast Augmentation / Uneven Breasts?

My breasts are really uneven and its really a source of self confidence issues for me. I realize that "most women do have this problem, ect" but I don't think "most women" have this problem as drastically. My right is a D cup and my left is a B / small C maybe. I hate going to the beach, wearing low cut tops, and will not get undressed in front of anyone, period. I can't even find bras that fit correctly and its very embarrasing. Anyway I definitely want to have this fixed and I've read that the only way to fix it is breast Augmentation. Has anyone had this procedure, especially with a similar problem? Could you tell me about the downtime, costs, and pain? Would you recommend it or do it again?

Thanks everyone!

Well I'm 18 years old and just had a breast augmentation for the same exact reason, I had one much larger than the other. My right breast was a B-C cup and my left was nearly an A cup. I had a minor lift to the larger one and augmentation too even out the breast. The incsion was made thru- the areola to resize and even them out. I went in to surgery at 7:33am and was done with surgery at 8:38am. I was awake at 9am and left home at 9:30am. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and I have healed perfectly they look exactly alike. I am in no pain, you only feel pressure the 1st 2 days and not even only in between the time that the pain killers rub off and you take more. They are already are starting to feel so natural. I am now a full C. I paid $ 5,500.00 (you can finance with no intrest). I used Silicone I recommend it.

How old are you? If you're still young then 99% of the time they even out over time

It's not unusual for one breast to be a cup size smaller than the other.

If your body is finished growing, then breast augmentation would be the way to fix this. Insurance policies consider this cosmetic, so you'll be on your own financially with this. Usually you will go to the plastic surgeon and select the breast size you want to be, and they will do both breasts. It is easier for them to match the breasts that way than to only increase the size of the smaller breast.

Good luck!

Either an implant in the smaller or a reduction in the bigger breast.

An implant won't be covered by insurance.

A reduction MAY, it all depends on how picky your ins co is.

During augmentation surgery, the implants are added to the natural breast to create a larger breast size. Your own natural breast tissue may also be reshaped to create the desired look. This reshaping of your breast tissue may be a significant part of the surgery. In fact, breast enhancement surgery for men usually involves reshaping the tissue rather than adding implants to increase the size.

Your breasts will probably be extremely tender post-operatively. You may be advised to avoid touching your breasts, or allowing anyone else to do so, for a while after surgery. However, once the pain begins to subside, your breasts should be less tender.

Stitches are usually removed about 10 days after surgery, but the swelling will likely remain longer than that. Swelling may persist for 3 to 5 weeks after surgery and may even last for a few months, but prolonged swelling is usually quite minor.

Also keep in mind that breast implants do not last forever. You will probably need surgery at some time in the future to remove and replace your implants, and they may need adjustment or permanent removal. You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon during your initial breast augmentation consultation. Many surgeons and most implant manufacturers recommend that breast implants be replaced after 7 to 12 years.
