My best friend has breast cancer and she goes into hospital to get a masectomy today.?

I have just spoken to her and i want to send her a text(she lives in Australia) to say im thinking about her and that shes a tough little cookie etc but i cant seem to find the right words or even put a sentence together right now,........any ideas would be really appreciated. my heart is in my mouth right now.i just wish i was there to be with her, shes alone over there and its killing me...xx

Keep it simple.

Don't say she's tough or brave, I too didn't want to hear that when I had breast cancer.

Tell her you love her - I know you'll have said it already, but you can't say it often enough. Tell her you'll be thinking of her all the time, and you're at the other end of the phone day or night.

You won't say the 'wrong' thing if you say what's in your heart.

My best wishes to your friend, and to you

Yes, it is very sad for anyone to get breast cancer. Earlier today I posted an article called "Breast Cancer Facts" on a website. I've also written a book on cancer and your friend now needs to educate herself about what has caused her cancer. A mastectomy doesn't stop the cancer from returning. Also Naturalnews has a very good article called "Breast Cancer Deception". She needs to read it to find out whats going on in the cancer industry.

I can understand how you feel with your friend being so far away when she needs you the most. My best friend is in Texas and I'm in Kentucky and we've braved many battles over the years but none quite as scary as cancer. I know and she knows that no matter how far apart we are we have a bond between us that is stronger than any distance. Just send your friend someting heartfelt and simple. If it were me talking to my Krissy I would simply say... " All will be well and better days are ahead, I have faith in you and I am always with you.... all my love and support today and always." I'm sure your friend knows you would be with her if you could. Chin up now and believe that everything will be ok. Best wishes for you and your friend, I hope all will truly be well. :)

Hello,

Just tell your friend that you are there for her, day or night, whenever she needs to talk. You don't have to come up with anything profound. You are friends. The fact that she can share her feelings with you is something that she will treasure.

I have a very dear friend in Australia who has an online breast cancer support forum. She was there when I needed her the most.

A mastectomy is hard to deal with. (I've had two.) Just let her know you are with her.

Please feel free to post your thoughts and questions at our listserv, There are many breast cancer survivors there that can help you and your friend get through this.

For my part I didn't want to hear how strong I was or anything like that. E-mails saying thinking of you maybe with funny pictures attached were welcome. A friend sent me a card that played a song when you opened it. A sister sent me pictures of her grandchildren. A neice sent a letter with funny stories about her kids. Friends brought flowers.
