Very serious question regarding pregnancy and breast cancer?

My very good friend is 16 weeks pregnant and just found out she has breast cancer. Unfortunatley, she is in the late stages and needs immediate treatment. They won't put her under general anesthesia because of risks to the baby. They say that chemo and radiation at the same time is the best way to treat it. What effects will these treatments have on her unborn baby? One doctors even suggested she consider terminating her pregnancy so that she could have a better chance to beat this. What should she do?

To me, I think that she should do what is best for herself, not to be mean. She wouldnt want to put both her and her baby at risk for serious problems. It is a very hard situation, and I am very sorry to hear about your friend. My mom just got done with having chemo for breast cancer, good luck to you and your friend.

Oh WOW, i would not terminate. I actually found a lump in my breasts after my miscarriage at 24 weeks, and they just did a ultrasound on both of my breasts today. It came back as Fybrocystic breast disease. (don't know why they need to call it a disease) I am pretty positive that i am pregnant again and they did not want to do a mammogram because of my pregnancy. What are the doctors saying to do(besides the one doctor that said to terminate) What are the odds? I cannot imagine what she is going through! i was terrified this morning and mine is not serious. She is in my prayer's and i hope that you will keep us updated. Blessings and prayers

EDIT: i would get 3 or 4 more opinions, there has got to be something that they can do to save both.

im sorry to hear that i know she dont want to do that..is there another way out. her life is very important right now. i saw try to look up better sources...w/o loosing the baby and her
