If your gyneco warns you against breast cancer will you stop shaving your armpitts and deodorant ? |
Deodorants are strongly suspected to trigger breast cancers - Shaving has nothing to do cancer, so there would be no need to stop that. Assuming this theory is true, I'm not worried. First, I take care of myself, which helps prevent any cancer. Secondly, I only wear deodorant when I know I'm going out, so maybe two or three times a week. Also, I do breastfeed. I do it for my nine month old daughter, as it's still the best food I can give her (although we are giving her organic cereal, fruits and veggies). The cancer prevention that I might get from that is just an added benefit. Actually, it's antiperspirants that cause problems as they block your pores. The other problems are parabens and aluminium (aluminum if you're American). The link between deodorants and breast cancer isn't as strong as you describe; not as strong, for example, as the link between smoking and lung cancer. And there are lots of other ways to get breast cancer, too. Its the aluminum in the deodorant, you can find deodorant without aluminum in it. Why not breast feed for a year or more and then continue to shave and defunkify? Can you ask the obgyn about that? I mean would it balance out? first of all a gyno wouldn't know much about breast cancer or the breast because they specialize in examining the vagina. Use a roll on rather than an aerosol. |
