49 yrs old. Had 2 sisters die breast cancer. My doctor will not prescribe hrts. Need to know what I can take.

I have not had a period in approx. 1 yr. Been having changes in my periods for the last 3-years. Just last year have had no periods. I have hot flashes, memory problems, no energy, sleeping problems.

well i would definitely think you would not want to take a chance on hrt's because of that i have an aunt that got breast cancer because of them.well there is an all natural none hormonal based herbal supplement that can help you called femal. i found it at www.florahealth.com however i bought it for a few dollars cheaper thru www.vitacost.com .i am suppose to be having a hysterectomy so that is why i bought them. i can't take hrt's either because if migraines and other problems. good luck and i hope you look this up and try it i already have mine just haven't started mine yet.they will send you info in the mail for it too. it doesn't even have black cohosh in which i don't think you would be able to take either so it would be totally safe for you. check it out and talk to your doctor about it.

All of those things are definitely signs of menopause, which means there are definitely other ways than hrts to combat such awful symptoms.

Perhaps you could get a couple more opinions; I know that meds are hard to come by, especially if your Dr. pulls a d*ck move like that, but have you ever considered Herbal Remedies? I know people usually knock down organic medicines, but I used to work for an organic food store, and I was surprised at how everything I used from their Remedy section worked so well.

I'm not saying to become an adamant Health Nut, but perhaps you could take something for the side effects until you get the stronger prescription medicines?

It could just very well be that you are experiencing Menopause and not heading towards breast cancer. My mother is about 44 and is going through it, and unless I bumped my head, those sound like the signs of it. If it is, try going to an Organic Food Store and checking out their Health and Wellness aisle. Or maybe a Women's One A Day specific to your needs.

Have you ever considered hormone replacement therapy? I don't know if that encourages or discourages breast cancer, but it wouldn't hurt to ask some professionals about it.
