Talking to a person with breast cancer...?

hi, i am just a teenager and i got in this program wher i am going to start to talk to this person that is going through breast cancer. im really nervous about it and was wondering if you could give me some ideas of what i could talk to them about etc. thanks for your help.

-- i also have to find out if they need anything food...etc.

They have cancer... They're not some sort of abnormal person... They have rights, emotions and feelings just like everyone else!

Talk to them about the same sort of things that you would talk to anyone else. News, recent events, the weather, whatever!?!?!

Just treat them the same as you would anyone!

And if you need to know if they want anything... Ask them!

talk to them about anything, people with cancer don't like to be treated as if they're different, they like to be treated like anybody else, it helps take their mind off of the situation they're in.

as for topics any thing will do, books, films, weather, hobbies, tv, likes, dislikes, music, etc...

definite topics to stay away from are illness especially any illness you may have (like colds) they hear enough of that all ready. however its ok to ask them how they feel or how they're doing, it shows your thinking of them :)

i have breast cancer and ms, just talk to her. you just need to remember ,that cancer is not the only thing in her life. i love to cook, read and go to the mall. as for the needs just ask her if there is something she is to eat, as for me they put me on low carbs hi fats, you will be just fine. just be yourself. after all that is all we can ask for.

just be there for them and listen to them when they need to talk. this person is going through a bad phase and is particularly vulnerable and very sensitive. just offer to help her if she needs anything but talk to her like you talk to any other person.
