I found a lump where the breast and pit meet.....Can this be breast cancer even tho?

I'm only 22 or what else can it be? Its hard and about the size of a pea. I found it while doing a SBE.

Most likely you have a cyst or a swollen lymph node. A swollen lymph node is your body's way of dealing with an infection you didn't know you had. Breast cancer at 22 is rare but not unheard of. See your Dr. and tell him or her that you want to have an ultrasound and mammogram done for your own peace of mind. And carry on doing that BSE, despite the so called experts. I was 43 when I found a lump in my breast. I've been cancer free nine years.

The others are correct that it most likely is not cancerous but the only way to tell for sure is by having tests done to see. The first that they probably will do on you because of the density of your breasts (younger women have denser breasts) and ultrasounds will show if it is a solid mass or a cyst. The next test may be a mammogram. If there is anything that causes them concern with those tests then you will get a needle biopsy to take a sample of the lump.

It is important to be proactive and not let the Dr. just push you aside because of your age.

It could be a cyst, abscess or benign tumour. There is a chance that it could be breast cancer, but 80% of breast lumps are non-cancerous.
I would go get a mammogram or a special thermal imaging scan. Although, these scans are hard to find, they are more comfortable than a mammogram.
Breast cancer lumps range in size, so I'd get it checked. You could have also just found a lymph node (you have clusters of them in your under arms, neck and groin). Good luck! Keep us informed.

If you found a lump, have it looked at, maybe it's a cyst, maybe not. Chances are it's not cancer, but I'm not a dr. I had a mammogram for no real reason, with NO symptoms, and found I had stage 4 breast cancer. Go get screened for your own peace of mind.

It could also be a benign tumor or a cyst, both of which are pretty harmless and can be treated easily. Considering your age, its very unlikely you have breast cancer, but not impossible. See your gyno right away to be sure.

A cancerous lump will feel hard and not fluid filled. I have several lumps on my breasts and I can tell they are fluid filled and the doctors have told me it is cysts. Which there is nothing I can do about it. They are harmless.
