I have a skin tag on my nipple of my right breast.. it was pink.. now it is black could i have cancer?


the skin flap or tag on my nipple was pink for a long time.. now in the last 2 days it has been black.. completely black and it hurts to touch and it also itches at times.. it reminds me of a skin flap or tag but its for some reason turned pitch black? do you have any idea what this could be? i am 16 weeks pregnant and worried.

See a doctor ASAP. It could be cancer or from producing milk.

First of all, don't worry. Being preggers, the last thing you need to to give yourself a fright with the "C" word!

I also had a skin tag that turned red and then black, and then it just fell off. The doctor told me that they just sometimes do that. Since it was on my eyelid, I was really freaked out about the prospect of having it cut off. I was quite happy when it just decided to fall off on its own!

Now, that all said, I'm not a doctor. If it would set you mind at ease, go talk to your doctor and ask them. Sometimes just hearing the words out of their mouth is enough to give you a bit of peace.

A skin tag is nothing to worry about, as they usually resolve themselves with time. Even if they do not go away, they are harmless unless they become infected or are irritating when clothing rubs on them. Sometimes they turn black when they have twisted on their stalk, which cuts off their blood supply. You should have your physician remove the tag in order not to get an infection, since you are pregnant.
Removing a skin tag is very simple and does not cause pain. It will be sent in to a pathologist who will make certain there are no questionable cells contained in the tag. But, rest assured, they are usually benign (non-cancerous).
In my opinion I would not suggest or recommend conventional treatments,there are alternative approaches that can be taken.
