My breast implant, due to reconstruction from cancer, has failed? |
My breast implant, due to reconstruction from cancer, has failed. Should I have it removed NOW or can I wait for a while? It was a saline filled implant. First, sorry to hear about the breast cancer hope all goes well with you. The deflated sac can stay where it is as long as it doesn't migrate to far from its original position. You will need to either replace it or remove it eventually. If you do chose to replace consider silicone - Cancer Survivors are the only ones allowed silicone. I would get it replaced with silicon. I guess you should have it removed completely to avoid further complications You want to go and get that fixed, ESPECIALLY if it was reconstructive for breast cancer. Although it probably won't cause a major problem, you don't want to take the risk of infection or other complications. As with many things in life, it's better safe that sorry. Sorry to hear you let these butchers at your beautiful breasts in the first place. Now. Do what is right for you health wise. You already have accepted the facts. Ignore Shruti's answer--he answers every question the same way. Go to his Q&A section. I'm on a mission to get him to stop!!!! |
