Should I have a breast reduction? |
I am trying to squeeze into a DD cup. I am sure I need way bigger. Breast reductions are not as dangerous as breast implants because there are no artificial implants. If you are uncomfortable with physical activity and are self conscious it would be a good idea. Also if your bra is making impressions in your skin on your shoulders then this is a sign they are putting to much physical stress on you. Just be careful who is doing the surgery. You want to make sure they have alot of experience and good results. If your PCP has given you good consults with other doctors in the past then he would be a good source for a reputable doctor. Ask questions and only go ahead if you feel comftortable with the doctor. Remember they love your business and you are holding all the cards. Ask to see pictures, references and check them on the internet at your states licensing board . Never a good idea to have elective surgery because of the risks of anaesthesia. However if your breast size is affecting your physical and mental well being it's really up to you. But also not good idea to squeeze into a smaller bra as you could be damaging the breast tissue and this could be a precursor to breast cancer later in life. Try some of these sporty tops with the built in support and you may get away with not using a bra. The other thing is I am sure lots of girls would love to have your problem, more breast enhancing bras are sold every year than any other kind. So be proud of what you have and walk tall. A breast reduction is a serious operation, and not always successful, as you know. A DD is not really that big unless you are a very short and slim person. Most people who have breast reduction surgery do it because they have severe back pain or can't do anything even *with* a bra! my mom and 2 sisters had what i would call a blessing with big boobs and me with tiny ones... but after my sisters had babies their boobs became ridiculous. all three of them have had a breat reduction and they are very happy with it. i think you should if you want to. Don't ever ask that question. they are a gift, share them! The ONLY person whose opinion should matter is YOURS. I wouldnt suggest doing it until you are atleast 22 and then wait even longer if you plan on having kids... playtex 18 hour has a great bra in larger sizes... i have 2 friends that have done it and they do not regret it.... good luck If you want it done, have it done. Also, if it because of weight like mine are, consider losing weight like I need to do. Costs less than surgery. |
