If I have breast reduction surgery will I be able to go to my 4 college classes?

I hear you need to stay in bed. I don't work and this is my last quarter, I wouldn't want to wait

You should be off of work and doing light duty for about two weeks. You shouldn't be carrying around heavy books while your incisions are still healing. You could seriously affect how your scars will look and your incisions will heal if you do not follow doctors orders.

I went through this surgery Feb 2006.

Hello,

Assuming that you don't have any healing problems, you should be OK for classes within a week or two or even less time. If you smoke, do what you can to stop as this impairs wound healing. You do not need to stay in bed for any protracted period of time though.

i'm scheduled for the reduction next month. my surgeon told me i need to take one week off to relax. you are recovering from surgery. it really depends how you feel, but you should do any activities where you need to move around alot. sitting in class might be ok, but you should talk to your doctor about what he recommends.

I would talk to your surgeon. If he/she gives you the go-ahead, you should be fine. Listen to your body, though. If you feel weak, ill or dizzy, then you should rest. I wish you the best with your surgery and recovery :)

Yes, but you'll lose most of the attention of the boys!
