I am wanting breast reduction, but afraid to. Can someone help with advice please?

I am seriously thinking about breast reduction. I have a size DDD. I am told by my friends and guys I should not, I should be proud of them as a lot of girls would kill to have them. I am not comfortable with them they use to never be this large. I used to have a consistent size C or D. I have been obsessively trying to loose weight in hopes that would reduce their size, but not working very well. I have been looking into the surgery for reduction. Yet, the idea of having scars from the surgery does not appeal to me and feel that would ruin the appearance. Has anyone gone through this and if so what was the outcome? Plus any other advice? I would really appreciate it!

Losing weight does not always work, as breasts are not all fat, they are also dense breast tissue.

Your only option may be for surgery covered by insurance if you have back pain.

The only opinion that should matter is your own and your BACK. Who cares what friends and guys say, they are not your back, or your health, and they don't have to deal with carrying them around like you do.

FYI I'd rather have scars and NO back pain over no scars and severe back pain.

A good PS, a good Patient, Mederma and Scarguard are excellent for ensuring scars to be faded. Mine are hardly noticeable.

I've watched surgery shows on it. Scars will be mostly gone by at least a year. It's common for women to get reductions for weight loss. They usually turn out very well. Good Luck!

don't listen to your friends. only you know what is best for you and your body. i am having a reduction on monday. going from 32E to 32C. i am very much looking forward to it. a friend of mine had the surgery done a year ago and her scars are barely visible. make sure you get the anchor incision if you have it done.
when i went for my consultation, they told me, for my height (5'1") that 130 pounds was the magic number. if i was under this (which I was). i would be approved. if i was over it, then i would not be approved and would need to lose weight first. different insurance companies have different rules.

i would suggest you make an appointment with a plastic surgeon for a consultation. you can talk about all your issues and fears and s/he will help with them. from what i heard from friends and others, everyone would do the surgery again in a heartbeat. the outcome and benefits outweigh everything else.

all i can say is that i've been waiting 5 years for this and i can't wait for monday to come!!!
