Areola reduction and breast augmentation (implants)?

I'm about to undergo a breast augmentation with areola reduction. I'm a little worried about the procedure and the results. Has anyone else had this done who could give me some advice or tell me how yours went? How long it took to heal ect. It would be greatly appreciated.

I just had surgery exactly 3 weeks ago today, and right now I'm pretty happy with the results. I had a lift, augmentation, and areola reduction. I had a TUBA, they went through the belly button, so I don't have any information about scarring or anything like that. They are still high on my chest and really tight, but when they settle down, I think they are going to be gorgeous. The only thing I wish my dr would have told me is how high and tight they are going to be. It feels like I have a Charlie Horse in my chest 24/7! But she said it's normal. I went back to work after 6 days, and I was up walking that night. The day after surgery will be the worst, I hope you have someone there to take care of you, cause you will need it.

You'll feel fine when you wake up but that day will be fuzzy. As as far as satisfaction with the results -it depends on the surgeon. Healing depends on your usual rate of healing. You wear little strips over the incisions until they fall off by themselves.
be sure to use "mederm" on the scars-it's great and really makes the scars go away.
Tips on the procedure:
Be sure the surgeon knows what you want-take pictures of breasts you like. You can print off web sites of surgeons and use detail, such as high projection, shape, size type of implant....Another thought-do you really want to reduce the size of your areola if you will be making your breasts bigger? Just a thought.
Hope this helps-and good luck.

I just had my implants removed actually. I also had an areola reduction and circumareola lift.

I had implants put in at age 21. They got really hard, so I had corrective surgery. Then they got hard again, and they also stretched out my areolas. So I had surgery AGAIN, only this time they replaced the implants, lifted and reduced the size of my areola. Then they just stretched out again and the implants got hard....again. Not only that, but in the 4th year, they sagged, BIG TIME. My nipples were almost pointing downward!

Finally I was so sick of all the problems and the gross side-effects of implants (hardness, unnatural shape, coldness - a lot of times they are colder than the rest of your body) so I got them removed. That was 3 weeks ago and I've never been happier. They look perfect! They are warm again, natural looking and my areolas are tiny and perky. They won't stretch out either because there isn't the tension of the implant underneath them - and my surgeon used permanent stitches on the inside of the skin.

My advice is not to get implants. What doctors won't tell you is that over 50% of implants rupture within 10 years!!! You won't always know if it ruptured either, it can be very minimal, causing your health to very slowly deteriorate. Also, capsular contracture is VERY common. The doctor told me it was 1 in 70 - but it's more like 1 in 5. Even if the capsular contracture is mild and almost unnoticeable, you and any guy you sleep with will be able to tell when your breasts are grabbed.

Bottom line: implants are gross. They are foreign to your body and your body will constantly be dealing with them, which will use up your energy resources. You may feel totally fine and healthy, but who is to say that you'll feel that way after 20 years of implants? Which leads me to my next point - are you prepared to have multiple surgeries? Sure, they say implants are guaranteed for life, but that's rare. You will most likely need more work done, because your breasts WILL sag - that's what big boobs do, they sag! Also, if you're like most women, you'll want to replace the implants at a certain time in your life... especially after having kids. Oh yeah, it's proven that breast feeding with implants DOES affect the baby.

So, do you really want big, hard chemical balls in your chest, sitting on top of your heart? Just do the areola reduction - natural boobs are waaaay more beautiful, guys think so too! I asked many guys about this and every guy I spoke to said that he'd rather be with a girl who had small and natural boobs than big fake ones.

Hope I helped!

Last year my best friend underwent a breast implants procedure and the results look really good so far. In my state a there are certain plastic surgeons that are better than others. I'd consult plastic surgeons in your area and see what they have to offer. http://www.plasticcosmeticsurgerycenter.... A local cosmetic surgeon should be able to answer your questions.

i have never had the surgery but i would love to be in your position but cant due to money.. but i wanted to wish you luck and hope everything turns out well!
