Would they do a breast reduction on me?

I am 5'1 and have DDD breasts, technically. My left breast is a DDD, and my right breast is a DD. There is a whole cup size difference between the two. I have been measured more than once. When wearing bras, the middle part that lies between my breasts and lies flat on my sternum does not lie in the middle, it pulls to one side because of the difference in the size of each breast.

I recently went to a Chiropractor for a consultation to see what he said my posture, back, neck, etc... He wrote a lot of things down and definitely agreed that I was a good candidate for a breast reduction, but he is not a plastic surgeon. He recommended me to a good plastic surgeon and I have an appointment on December 5th.

The plastic surgeon sent me paperwork and wants proof of weight loss efforts, a nutritionist, support bras, and a bunch of other stuff...

Do you think they would do a breast reduction for me with insurance paying for it? The Plastic Surgeon takes my insurance. I am just wondering in my case.

You sound like me about 20 years ago! I had a breast reduction and they removed almost 2 1/2 pounds from each side and I've never regretted even once! And, although it's nice to "like yourself for who you are and not change" this is a medical issue - not a cosmetic issue. I was 22 years old and I had back problems, spinal curvature and constant rashes from the chafing. When the plastic surgeon took photos of my shoulders, I had 1/2" grooves in them from my bra straps!

It sounds like you would be the typical candidate for breast reduction.

My only advice is this... wait until you are finished having children if you are of child-bearing age and you plan to have a family. I had mine after my first child and my breasts grew AGAIN with my next two pregnancies. I went from a DDD to a C after my surgery and I'm a DD again due to pregnancies and weight gain. It would have been better if I could have waited a little longer and had it done after my children were born.

Another piece of advice, DO NOT lift any more than the doctor tells you that you can after the surgery. It may not hurt to lift more, but you will stretch out your stitches and have more scarring than you want - another thing I learned the hard way.

Recuperation is not bad. Just take it easy and try to walk and move around as much as possible to keep your blood moving and help the healing - just don't lift and use your arms as much.

Good Luck!

If it's just for cosmetic reasons you'll more than likely have to pay for it yourself. If it's because of health reasons (back pain, bra grooves in your shoulders, etc) then your insurance is more likely to pay. The plastic surgeon will help you with this.

yes, im pretty sure they would. hopefully for you they will! if its causing back pain ect. then they defiantly should do it for you.
if they dont do it, then id recommend looking for other plastic surgeons to see what their opinions are!

as long as they dont get reduced to smaller then a D...do what you do

hmm not sure

i wanna see!!!!
