Any girls out there who have had a breast reduction & lift?

I would just like to know the recovery time & how painful it is & anything you think I might want/need to know about it. I have always been blessed up top but they are so dense & heavy they make my back hurt. I thought surgery would be very helpful to me.

I had it Feb 2006 (38J to 38C) and it was totally worth it. I'd do it again if I had to.

Recovery time depends on any complications, but here's how it happened for me...

I woke up in the recovery room with NO PAIN

I was out of work for two weeks (more if you are in a physically active job) and was taking it easy for a whole month. Then I slowly worked back into working out.

I had my final size and regained nipple sensation at 3 months, BUT it can take up to or over a year for that to happen. It also takes about a year for the scars to fade. Mederma and Scarguard help out a LOT with the scars.

The key word to recovery from this surgery is PATIENCE. Talk to your PS if you have ANY questions, since different PS's have different ways to treat you. You don't want to treat it one way and then when you go to the PS he wanted you to do it another way. You are paying him to take care of you.

See at least three PS's in your health plan before you decide. I ended up going with my second surgeon that I had a consult with and he was great.

Here are some sites you should check out:

http://www.breasthealthonline.com...
http://www.bfar.org

The first site is an excellent source of information and there are tons of women who have experienced breast reduction with lift.

The second site talks about breastfeeding after reduction.

Good luck in your journey, contact me if you need to.
Reduction - the day after the surgery no more pain, first time in 8 years. Relief, happiness, and would do it again without any fears.

Need more info, email me!
If it would benifit you then I would say it is worth it. I havent had one but I work in the Operating Room at the hospital, and I have seen them lots of times. This is a very invasive surgery and I would only do it if very necessary. Recovery is tough and painful.
Within the first day or two your breasts will be swollen, bruised and rather painful. For about a week after surgery you will fell soreness, and should avoid sexual activity. Your first period after this surgery will also bring about discomfort. You should wear a surgical bra after this surgery for proper healing and comfort. You can read more about the recovery process here: http://www.newimage.com/cosmetic-plastic... or http://www.newimage.com/cosmetic-plastic... The recovery period for both procedures are essentially the same.
