Any way to prevent sagging after breastfeeding?

I have heard that the boobage completely sags after breastfeeding. I'm OK with that and plan to breastfeed my baby once he's born.

But just out of curiosity, how much sagging can occur? What can I expect? Is there anything I can do to prevent too much sagging? How would you say your own boobage held up to the breastfeeding challenge?

Thanks, and sorry for the personal question! :)

First of all, you probably heard that from some woman using that as an excuse to not breastfeed. I have heard that many times from woman who never breastfed, never once was it a complaint from a post-breastfeeding mother. Breastfeeding does not cause saggy boobs, pregnancy does. Your breasts fill up with milk during pregnancy and become hugely engorged after birth for a couple days. Even if you never once put your baby to your breast, you will notice some sagging of the skin when the milk goes away, or possibly stretch marks. I think that amount of sagging actually depends on the size of your breasts (genetics). If you have small breasts like I do, there is just not that much that gravity can do to hurt you. I am an A cup and when breastfeeding I went all the way up to a B cup (HA HA). I nursed my two kids for close to 3 years (about 18 months apiece). I honestly don't see that much of a difference in my boobs. The only thing is when you first wean, they do look funny for about a month, like a balloon that had the air let out. My sister-in-law had that same sexy look going on after she gave birth, even though she bottle fed her baby. It's going to happen either way. But it does go away fast and they firm right up again. I would say just make sure that you wear a good bra all the time, even before birth, just to try and trick gravity.
Congrats on planning to breastfeeding, you will love it and so will your little one. Good luck!

Congratulations to you!

I Gave birth to my first child last year. Wore a good bra & lifted weight (bench press). All I can say is that they are not totally sagging...but not as perky. A1/4 inch drop? LOL! No matter what you do it will sag.

My best advise: Wear a good bra during & after pregnancy. Get your bra refitted every 3 months (its free at Victoria S****t), 'cause your size may change. Chest exercise to improve the chest muscles & make the breasts look better on chest (after recovery & with Dr approval). I wore a bra to bed for the first 9 months due to leakage but it may have helped. I stopped breast feeding after 8 months.
Oh, expect your boobs to really enlarge after childbirth (milk production) so get fitted for a bra right before your due date & buy a cup size larger (was a 34B had a 34C after childbirth & even now)

After breastfeeding 2 children, I can tell you that sagging will occur no matter what.
Don't be ashamed. Wear them as a badge of honor :) Perky breasts up to your chin don't look natural anyway!
The only suggestion I have is to buy some cocoa butter to rub on your breasts. This will help with preventing stretch marks.
Get yourself a good push-up bra for the sagging and no one will know the difference.
Good luck!

It is not true you are not doomed to granny boobies just because you breastfeed. Make sure you wear a good bra all the time - even to bed....it makes a difference. I have nursed 3 kids for 16, 23 and 24 months. My girls aren't exactly where they used to be but I am 40 and they don't drag on the ground.

Sagging is going to occur due to age and pregnancy, regardless if you breast feed or not. Wearing good bras helps even when you are not nursing.

My own experience...well I was saggy before I started nursing I'm afraid!
