Is it normal to get your period while breastfeeding? |
My baby is almost 4 months old and i just got my first sign of getting my period? totally normal... though it would be totally normal not to get it as well. as others have said, every body is different, but never assume that your lack of period is a sign of infertility. Always use some sort of birth control unless you are ready to get pregnant again. i think it's different for everyone. i had my first periord 3 months after i had my baby, even though i was strictly nursing. my sister on the other hand, has not had a period since 2006! she had two kids in that length of time and breast fed both of them, still nursing the more recent one. so i think you are fine, it just depends on the woman. I am exclusively breastfeeding, and I got my period at 8 weeks. It is unusual to resume full fertility, ovulation, etc. I think, but my dr. said every body is different. No worries! It would be nice to be without it, though. Yes it is perfectly normal for you to get your period while breast feeding. Many women get there period right after giving birth. Don't be alarmed it just means that your body is ready of another baby if you so chose. Hope this helps. Breastfeeding can delay a period but eventually most woman do get their periods back it just usually takes longer than if they weren't breastfeeding. I did not have my first period , either time, until i stopped breastfeeding but i have heard of many women that do get their periods back sooner, Yes, it's normal. I have been exclusively bf my daughter, and I got one when I was around 8 weeks postpartum in Feb, and then they stopped again until last month. it's normal dont worry Yes..about %10 of women, as I did. And my doctor said to be careful, as I could easily get pregnant again. Full fertility.... Yes its normal.. I breastfeed my son till he was about 16 months - and still gotten my preiod through out breastfeeding... |
