How Revolting Is Someone Breastfeeding Their Baby In Public?

It goes up there with someone picking their nose in public. Yuck!!

Actually, you really can't compare them for two simple reasons:

1. Picking ones nose is the removal of a waste product (boogers), where as breastfeeding is providing clean sanitary nutrition to a baby.

2. You don't need to pick your nose every 2-3 hours to prevent the starvation and death of your baby. Breastmilk is the babies birthright.

Certainly you have the right to like and not like what you wish . . . just understand that these are simply mothers trying to do whats best for their babies.

Peace.

PS Football isn't going anywhere.

If you don't want to see it then don't look. How do you know there is nothing you do that others think is disgusting? God gave women breasts for a reason and it was to feed our babies. Why would something so natural be gross? Besides that it is or should be every womans right to do with her body as nature intended without having to worry about other people making it harder. People smack in public, chew with their mouth open, all kinds gross things but you don't see people going around making a big deal out of it. It's sad that society can overlook bad manners yet find time to complain about something so natural. I don't get that. People walk around half naked and people don't complain. So it's okay to go into a store and see half the women in their with their boobs and butt cheecks hanging out but it's not okay to nurse a baby in public? Some people amaze me. Most people are very descreet when nursing but people still find a reason to complain. I was nursing one day and had the baby covered up and when a woman asked what I was doing and I told her she got all offended and told me that wasn't allowed. Yet there were girls walking by with their pants unbuttoned. That's okay tough I am sure she liked me when she lost her job. Grow up. You can see people with their body parts hanging out all day long but not a nursing baby.

Was she exposing her built in bottles that they were created for?

Usually mothers that nurse put a small receiving blanket for the baby to nurse in somewhat privacy.

I did it but never in public, had 4 children this way and found it most satisfying and a closeness to each of my children.

Your mother must not have done it with you or you would not have this reaction, how sad. picking your nose is disguesting, but feeding your infant the way God Created you to do, isn't vulgar only the one who thinks so.

I guess it depends on ones maturity level. Personally I do not have a problem with it. Most women that I see breast feeding in public keep themselves covered. Parents now days are trying to shelter their children too much, when breast feeding is a natural and normal. there are many benefits to the children who have been breast fed versus those who were fed by formula. those children who have been breast fed suffer less colds and ear infections than those on formula. It also appears that breast fed babies are smarter than those who were raised on formula.

but since you find it repulsive, then that tells us that you lack maturity.

i breastfed both of my children, and i fed them whenever they were hungry- and even in a very busy restaurant, not a sole would have seen anything- i always carried a receiving blanket with me, and i threw one corner over my shoulder-everything was covered, baby could eat as much as he needed, and nobody saw anything. most women that i know fed their babies that way-you can breastfeed with modesty too, you know.

Breastfeeding is beautiful, and i did it everywhere - with pride!
