Is breastfeeding primitive and disgusting?

I asked a question on breesfeeding on here and somone answered that "Breasfeeding is primitive and disgusting. We are not cavemen."

She said breastfeeding in public is completely inappropriate.

Why do some people think it is so disgusting? Isn't it natural? Didn't our species breastfeed for millions of years? Would homo sapiens be where they are today if their mothers didn't breastfeed them?

I am insulted when someone tells me it is digusting....What do you think?

well..I grew up breastfeed with my mum..but my mum never breastfeed in public.she says...its not really disgusting but its somehow annoying specially when a mother do a breastfeed in a public vehicles like inside the Jeep or inside the train or in a Bus..or in a public restaurant..some mothers in rural areas I sawed them breastfeeding anywhere specially when they have a household chores..but by nature its not disgusting.

Each person has their own view. But not it is natural and beautiful and babies do better even if breastfed for the first few weeks. the immune syster needs the mothers breastmilk. and in public, who cares, it is a natural thing. It is a breast, if you are a woman you have then it shouldn't bug you to see then and see then used for what we have them for. Isn't like they are walking around nude.

Everyone feeds their child their own way, but niether way is disgusting. Just know your child will have an advantage their child didn't. If they are fine with that well what can you do. Anyone who tells me breastfeeding in public is inappropriate, well I will just look them straight in the eye, and say well sorry...you feel that way and continue on breastfeeding. I would ask them so is it better just to let my child starve and cry so I can make you feel more comfortable?

lmfao what a retard!! what the hell did women feed their babies before formula was invented. i think some people are to worried about what things look like. i just answered another question regarding breastfeeding and as i said on their breastfeeding past 1 is a little strange for me at least BUT who am i to judge. breast milk is the best milk for a baby if your eating right and taking care of your body. she is right we are not cavemen but we have evolved thanks to them and their ability to continue life but feeding our young kind!

Breastfeeding is natural and that is why we were giving breasts that produce milk to feed our babies. Yes some woman don't get the supply for various reasons usually a medical reason and some don't want to nurse but back when they didn't have formulas you either nursed or had to give cows milk or powdered milk but breastmilk was viewed as best choice.

Again, it is a private moment between mother and baby. What was said turns my stomach and upsets me. That person must be selfish and I am glad she is not my mother. Please just do it in private so you and the baby can bond properly. The baby looking up at you as she is feeding, the closeness of your body makes her feel so secure, and the way she puts her little hand around your pinkie is the most priceless moment. Those moments just should not be seen by others.

I have no problem with it. Babies need mother's milk, that's what helps them develop best (it helps that brain). Even if not for long, I'm pretty sure a baby should get some breast milk in it's life. If humans stopped the need to breastfeed, you'd think evolution would have kicked in, and over time, women wouldn't need their breasts anymore. It also lets the mommy bond with her baby :)

Breastfeeding isnt disgusting, unless the mother is letting her kid run up to her in public and open her shirt for a suck, when he is clearly too OLD for it.

Actually, I think you've just fallen into a trap. Whoever said that was just trying to wind people up, and succeeded in winding you up. Of course nobody believes that.
