Is pumping just as painful as the breastfeeding? |
On a score of 1 - 10 for both. Breasfeeding may be painful in the beginning due to engorgement and nipples cracking but it does get easier and the best thing for your baby... no pain..... pumping isnt painful at all.. Good luck with your new bundle of joy... Breastfeeding is more painful is you don't know the right way to help the baby to latch on. ( Yes there is a right and a wrong way), but you get use to it plus you should pump to give someone else a change to feed the baby. For me the best feeling is knowing that I have breastfeed time to bond with my baby it's had to bond with a pump.... Breastfeed as often as you can it helps you to produce more milk. More. Breastfeeding is only painful for the first few weeks (if at all... It wasn't at all for me, but I realize it is for some.) or if your baby doesn't have a good latch (This is something you can get help to fix, if it's a problem... see a lactation consultant or call an LLL leader. Different positions can help as well.). But pumping can be painful. How painful will depend on the kind of pump you have, and on the size and shape of your breasts. (It's hard to find pumps that fit well on larger busted women). Once any challenges are overcome, breastfeeding should be far less painful. ha ha Neither "should be" painful. OK. For me..breast feeding my daughter was very painful for the first few weeks. As time goes on, the less painful it is. But if there is pain it could be from mastitis or a yeast infection of the breast. Overall I thought it was a great experience and I would go through all the pain again in a heart beat. It's all worth it!! Pumping ( I suggest you get Medulla, i think that's how you spell it...) and yes it does hurt a bit when your breasts are real swollen with breastmilk.....breastfeeding only hurts if the baby bites you hehheeh but, its true, somtimes they do...... Breastfeeding for me was really painful about an 8 for the first 3 weeks and now it is about a 2. Pumping is about the same. Eventually your breast toughen up. My personal experience... Neither is painful when done properly. Depends on your baby. Mine moved her jaw back and forth and was painful, but the pump had an even motion and was not painful at all. breastfeeding- 0 Neither should be painful. No I don't think it was... |
