Can I take Holy Basil while breastfeeding? |
My mother in law gave me several bottles of Holy Basil and I have been taking them daily. I ran out and when I got another brand I noticed that this bottle warned not to take it while breastfeeding. I am wondering if I have harmed my child by breastfeeding her while taking this supplement. She is 14 months and I have been taking the supplements for 3 months or so. http://www.organicindia.com/tulsi-facts-... I was taking New Chapter Holy Basil for a while. I don't think you should take it while breastfeeding because there are very high amounts of the basil supplement and that will get transferred through to your baby. I don't think it will cause any serious harm, but you may want to stop while breastfeeding. I never heard of that supplement. What is it suppose to do? Well, yeah I would definitely stop taking that until you talk to your doctor at least to see what he/she has to say about it. Tell them how long you've been taking it and how long you've been breastfeeding. |
