Do you have to use the designated breastfeeding bags?

do you have to use specifically the breastfeeding bags or can i use ziplocs to store my breastmilk in the freezer? my baby is now six months old.

i use gerber brand storage bags...just wondering if ziplocs can be used as a cheaper alternative. i know what a a sandwich can also be stored in a ziploc.

you CAN use regular bags if that's all you have,
the breastfeeding bags are great for several reasons though, they are BPA free, they are sterilized (regular ziploc bags are not sterile but you could always just boil the bags in water for a couple minutes if you need them to be sterile), they don't fall over when you're pouring milk into them, and the bags protect against freezer burn better.
I've found it's just alot more convenient, and not significantly more expensive, to use breastmilk storage bags (I use the lansinoh ones, they're really easy and have oz markings on them too). But you can use ziploc bags if that's what you have (not sure about BPA content though, I'm not sure if that's a concern for you or not)

I use the lanolin bags.
