Has anyone on here got preg or started having periods while breastfeeding?

I'm currently breastfeeding my 1 month old and was wondering if anyone on here has gotten preg or started having periods while breastfeeding. I hate condoms and you're not supposed to use birth control while breastfeeding but I don't want to get preg again so soon so I'm trying to see how good my chances are of ovulating while breastfeeding.

The reason I don't want another is I also have a 21/2 yr old.

I started my period while breastfeeding with my first child at 10 mos. and became pregnant with his sister 6 mos. later. So if you don't want to chance it, then use a condom, or an alternate is spermicidal jelly. Congrats!

I will give you three different examples. 1. A relative was breastfeeding without a period and ended up pregnant around her babies 2nd month. 2. My aunt had her period throughout her pregnancy and while breastfeeding, never stopped. 3. My friend does not have regular periods ever, and she has become pregnant 2 separate times without having her period for 3 months, both times around her 2nd month without her period she became pregnant. My suggestion use a condom or be prepared for another pregnancy because we obviously ovulate without our periods.

yes, this is why some many babies are born 10 or 11 months apart. example : my cousin had her first child at 5 1/2 months { real early , but she is fine now } . she had her in January. by may she was pregnant with her TWINS and by December of the SAME year she had the boys !!! i can only imagine what the people at the IRS at tax time think...3 kids in a year ??? yes, you can get pregnant while breast feeding and while not having a period. do not take a chance, use some method. let your baby be the only baby for at least a year to get some quality bonding with it before having another. good luck.

Yes you can get pregnant again and you can also use birth control. You can use the progesterone only birth control pill (the mini pill) and you can also get an IUD called Mirena. Both of these are options for breastfeeding moms. Other than that suck it up and use a condom if you truly don't want that risk again.

Yep...I start usually a month after I give birth on my period again. I am on my 3rd pregnancy and I am expecting to have it happen again. It just depends on your body and your hormones.

The other problem with nursing and trying to use that as a gauge, is that you don't know when you ovulate which will lead to it not being a dependable birth control.

Dear Friend, When my wife and I took our parenting class when she was pregant, they said that you can definitely become pregnant while breast feeding. You can get answers to your questions, caring support and free pregnancy testing, by going to a pregnancy resource center, which you can find by calling 1800395help. Take all the best care.

There is a birth control pill for nursing moms. When I had my son a few years back I was concerned about the same thing. Talked to my OB and they gave me some kind of pill that was missing a hormone that is in regular pills. I would talk to the Dr. Congrats on the little one

You can go on a progesterone only birthcontrol pill while breastfeeding. It's often called the mini pill. Ask your doctor about it.

I never got pregnant while breastfeeding but my sister did. She is currently 32 weeks pregnant with her 6th child. It is possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding.
