Is there anything sexual about breastfeeding?

has/does anyone experience any awkwardness, or weirdness about having sex with hubby paying lots of attention to breasts, while there's a newborn sleeping on the other side of the room who normally uses your breasts to eat? ...does the hubby feel weird? I do enjoy it alot, and just wonder if anyone felt very weird about the whole thing. I don't want to make him stop doing it until I don't nurse anymore, because I often times need it during foreplay. I AM going to be nursing my newborn when he arrives, no doubt about that...but did anyone switch to bottles because of this? and if so, when did you switch? ..I feel kind of awkward at times already from getting turned on so much by hubby being 'intimate' with my breasts.

I'm due next week..and they do get sore and the best thing I found to relieve pain and release endorphins is for him to play with them..

its a completely different feeling, believe me. Breastfeeding is a wonderful experience and feels great (well, after the first few weeks of getting things figured out), but the feeling is not sexual. Yes, there are mothers who can not separate the two, and stop breastfeeding, but remember that your breasts primary purpose is feeding babies, and secondary purpose is as a sex organ. They are multi-taskers!!

dont feel awkward!!! but remember once the baby actually comes and you start feeding your going to be producing a lot more milk and your hubby playing with them might become a sticky situation (LOL no pun intended) but seriously it might become messy and turn you both off. I remember taking my bra off getting ready for foreplay with my first and my boobs just squirting like a damn fountain. Completely killed the mood.

Also, playing with your nipples I hear can start labor!!!

My husband might think its sexy to see me whip out my breasts to feed my baby but I sure don't! I just see it as a necessity, something that needs to be done! If you like it though, and he likes it, there really isn't any reason to not continue.

Be aware though that things might change after you have your baby at least for a couple of weeks. Your nipples will be really sore and tender so be gentle!

I don't allow my husband to touch them (bare naked), i'm breastfeeding, & they're full of milk, it'd be weird FOR ME & MY HUSBAND.. I wished i could be ok with it, but it feels funny so they're off limits right now.

Once my son is weaned he can have them back =]

MY hubby loves them and trys to drink the milk, I dont like it. I hardly ever let him touch them with out a bare on, beacuse my nips hurt when they get hard.

But haveign the baby on the other side of the room doesnt bother me, unless he wakes up.

nipple stimulation can bring on contractions, so you may or may not want to avoid it in the late stages, you should ask doc to be sure.
there is nothing sexual about breast feeding, at first it will be painful until you get used to it, and you will not want hubby to touch your breasts due to fullness pain and sore tender nipples. after they toughen up and you get used to it, it is a wonderfully powerful bonding experience between you and baby, and it helps to release all kinds of feel good hormones and bring on a very intense feeling of love for your baby, you will be so glad you chose to nurse !
but you may change your mind about hubby having access to the boobies, it will totally be up to you though depending on soreness and sensitivity levels.
