Breastfeeding and Period HELP!? |
I have 2 kids.. My son is 6 mos old.. He is Breastfed and he is on solids now as well.. Been on cereal since 4mos maybe almost 5... Anyhow- I am sitting here a nervous wreck... I had him in September got my first period back New Years Eve (yay @@) and then Jan 25, and Feb 26th... That's it.. I have not had another.. I have tested 4 times all negative- with both my kids I tested 14dpo and got a BFP. With my son I hadn't even missed a period yet... I do use contraceptives- non hormonal.. VCF actually... Obviously I'm sexually active since I'm married lol.. Anyhow- I did notice since our trip to FL the beginning of March he started nursing more frequently then, and has been now... I also recently started pumping at work more often b/c I get so engorged.. I didn't nurse my dd so I am not familiar with how my body works while breastfeeding.. But is it possible to get a period back than it go away?? OMG I am a nervous wreck... I don't want any more kids- like I said I do use prevention. :-/ Obviously you should go to your Dr to rule out any other possible issues. You say you have two kids, so you should know how your body feels when you first get pregnant. I knew I was pregnant the second time (which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage) before the tests would even register the two pink lines. :) The best answer is going to come from your gynecologist hon. Despite the negative pregnancy tests and birth control, anything is possible. Even if you aren't pregnant, this needs to be sorted out properly. Breastfeeding usually delays a woman's period for quite a while but you should play it safe and just get checked out for your own peace of mind. I hope all turns out well for you. Good luck! I mean the more you nurse, the less likely you'll have your period. Just be happy, once I got my period back, my milk supply went down. omg see a doctor quick idk This happened to me.Not everyone has a period when they are breastfeeding.I started my period had it 3 months and then when my son started drinking more I produced a ton of milk . At this point I stopped having periods until Ryan started eating solids and did not need or want as much breast milk. I lost some of my supply and got my period back.If you are sure you do not want children at this time you should contemplate using a birth control called IUD.This way if in the future you do decide to have more it can be taken out in 5 mins. in a doctors office. There will be no permanent sterilization going on (eg. tubes tied or vasectomy). This is just a suggestion.Worrying is definitely not fun.Good luck with your situation.=0D When you are breastfeeding your cycle can be off or you may have no cycle at all. Since your son is on solids now you will probably start to notice your cycle becoming a little more regular. (emphasis on little) I would suggest you also use a condom. |
