I plan on breastfeeding....? |
i'm due april 23rd with my first baby. I was wondering what effect breastfeeding had on your breasts. After you stopped breastfeeding did they return to the original size you were pre-pregnancy/breastfeeding or were they smaller or larger? I have breastfed 2 babies, my breasts are no different than before, however I am large chested and they were never "perky" to begin with. Whether you breastfeed or not, your breasts will sag a little after pregnancy because they will naturally fill up with milk and then stop one day (after weaning or if you don't breastfeed). So the rush of milk causes them to stretch a bit. Its not that bad, and you will be the only one to even notice most likely. Mine seem so obviously different, but my hubby still loves them and doesn't think they have changed any. It was definitely worth it, my son loved breastfeeding and I actually enjoyed it very much too. It is very relaxing and it feels good to be nurturing your baby naturally. If your planning on bf-ing, then go out and buy Lansinoh (Lanolin Breast Cream) to get yourself "ready". I'm currently still feeding my son so I can't tell you what will happen when your done but I can tell you that they will become a little saggy. I breast fed both my children. After the first they stayed the same but after the second they shrank and are saggy. I didn't have huge ones to begin with but they were a lot better than what I am left with now. Breastfeeding is better for the baby. Its just a sacrifice you have to make. Im lucky my husband doesn't care. Plus you can always get implants. my breasts got a cup size smaller after i quit breastfeeding with my first. with my second baby, i quit breastfeeding a month ago and havent notice any change. everyone is different, and every pregnancy affects every womans body in a different way. Mine are larger -- but I'm larger all over. I permanently went up from a 34 B to a 36 C ... and weigh about 30 pounds more than I did pre-preg. Mine were very big right before and during breastfeeding... but then they went back to normal size... a little bit lower though... haha. After I stopped they went back to their original size ... but they are saggy now :( I went from a C cup to a D.. |
