Things mother's should eat while breastfeeding? |
Things mother's should eat while breastfeeding? Just like you did while you were pregnant (fresh foods, protein, not too much junk). As far as what you shouldn't eat, people may tell you things like chocolate and raw veggies can give the baby gas but personally I never noticed a difference. La Leche usually has good advice about these things. Take care! you can eat anything just in moderation... midwives and doctors told me that you can finally eat all the food you couldnt while pregnant, soft cheeses, seafood, deli meats etc... as long as you dont eat a whole bowl of prawns and a whole platter of cheese bub will be ok, just everything in moderation I think the most important thing is to continue vitamins. However, I did notice that with certain foods, my kids did get more gas. Or maybe they were going to be gassy anyway. But, if I ate cauliflower or brocoli or cabbage.....poor babies :) Make sure you continue to take your prenatal vitamins. Drink milk and lots of water you need to stay hydrated and eat red meat. Just make sure you are eating something from all the food groups fruits veggies etc. drink milk. Babies need lots of vit D |
