Question about breastfeeding while pregnant? |
i have a 6 month old who is exclusivly breastfed, and my husband and i want to have another child. i am staying home with my daughter and will go back to work when she is old enough for school. anyways we want to have another child close to this one and im thinking in a few months we may decide to try again. i am just wondering if anyone has successfully breastfed their child while being pregnant? were there any difficulties? any tips or ideas on this? I breastfed all of my babies until pregnant with the next. The first 3 (my 4th is 11 months old) weaned themselves within the first month of the next pregnancy. I read that the taste of the milk can change. I really wanted to continue nursing during my pregnancies (even though it can really take a toll on your body), but it didn't work out that way for me. You need need need to wait wait wait. My mom had two babies 16 months apart and did this. She had no difficulties. The one thing to be aware is that later in the pregnancy, nipple stimulation can cause contractions which could make you go into early labor. Consult a doctor and maybe find out what is the minimum amount of time between babies they would recommend, based on how long you plan on nursing. is the baby starting solids yet? you don't have to quite yet but it's something to start considering. My doctar said it increased my chances of having twins, i have always heard you have to stop when you get pregnant...dont hold me to that though....just what ive heard |
