Question about breastfeeding while pregnant?

i have a 6 month old who is exclusivly breastfed, and my husband and i want to have another child. i am staying home with my daughter and will go back to work when she is old enough for school. anyways we want to have another child close to this one and im thinking in a few months we may decide to try again. i am just wondering if anyone has successfully breastfed their child while being pregnant? were there any difficulties? any tips or ideas on this?

I breastfed all of my babies until pregnant with the next. The first 3 (my 4th is 11 months old) weaned themselves within the first month of the next pregnancy. I read that the taste of the milk can change. I really wanted to continue nursing during my pregnancies (even though it can really take a toll on your body), but it didn't work out that way for me.

Good luck - BTW- my 1st two boys are 15 months apart and i think it's GREAT having them that close! A lot of people will tell you that you are crazy- but trust me- it's worth it!

You need need need to wait wait wait.
At least two years.
Two years is close enough.
The thing is you recently depleted your available nutrients for your baby and birth. If you attempt to conceive so soon you may be putting baby #2 at risk.
You need to work on building up your reserves.
You need to make sure that you have a fully healthy and nourished womb.

What the heck?
A thumbs down for giving sound nutritional advice?
I am not talking out of my hat you know.
This is 4 years of school.
I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in nutrition with a concentration in dietetics.

My mom had two babies 16 months apart and did this. She had no difficulties. The one thing to be aware is that later in the pregnancy, nipple stimulation can cause contractions which could make you go into early labor. Consult a doctor and maybe find out what is the minimum amount of time between babies they would recommend, based on how long you plan on nursing.

is the baby starting solids yet? you don't have to quite yet but it's something to start considering.

It's perfectly fine to continue breastfeeding while pregnant, but you may find that your milk will start to change as your hormone levels do also.

My doctar said it increased my chances of having twins,
breasting feeding and ttc

i have always heard you have to stop when you get pregnant...dont hold me to that though....just what ive heard
