Breastfeeding pain questions? |
Painful breast feeding question? ok cus people made it out to seem like the pain was unbearable it didn't hurt me, the only thing that hurt was the engorgement, but your gonna get that anyway after giving birth. the whole nursing process is not supposed to hurt. if you Find a comfortable position, and latch correctly, it shouldn't hurt, and consult with the lactation expert then u should be fine, ask LOTS of questions and don't let them leave until you get it right. they came to my room numerous times. From my experience it was uncomfortable rather than painful during the first couple of times. Then after we both figured it out it was very relaxing for both of us. I recommend lanisoh breastfeeding cream, to put on your nipples after each feeding in the beginning. It really works wonders! They also have breast pads that are the best i think. All you can do is try. Hope it works out for you and is a pleasant experience. Just don't give up the very first time. Try a couple at least. Congrats! breastfeeding is obbviously your choice nothings wrong with formula but breast milk prevents them from catching colds so easily and helps you loose weight and is very good for them which im sure you heard the first couple of times it did hurt just bcus it was a diffrent kind a sucking and because my daughter was sucking hard on them to eat but by the end of the week it didnt hurt unless she latch on and about the cream yes use it bcus the end part of ur nipple may tear due to dryness and believe me if u dont see it when the baby feeds u will feel it and will hurt like paper cut but use cream and good luck to u and breastfeeding and when u first breastfeed ease ur pain by telling urself ur doing ur baby a favor and ur bonding and just stare at ur child ull forget all about the pain I learned that when your milk drops you get like a warming/tingly sensation in your breast and back. You're breast my become tender, or gorged. My nipples were a little bit tender for the first month, lanolin helped a lot. It only hurts really bad if you're super engorged, have a blocked duct or get an infection. Infections are rare and engorgement/blocked ducts are easily remedied. It's slightly painful, but worth it to do what's best for the kid. |
