My wife is not breastfeeding. About how long does it take for her breasts to dry up? About three weeks, and it's PAINFUL when they first stop. Different woemn have different milk suply levels though, so it may be depending on the person. tell her to wear a very tight sports bra with nursing pads in them (in case of leakage) and only to take it off while taking a bath. tell her not to run warm water on them and do not rub or massage them even though they hurt! they should dry up in about a week and a half to two weeks. It took me a couple of days and it was painful. They were rock hard and hot. She should wear a really tight fitting bra and put a cold pack on them. I've heard cabbage leaves work, but I didn't try that. A couple of weeks. She can speed up the process by wearing a snug fitting sports bra and avoiding really warm water in the shower running over a breasts for more then a few seconds. 3 weeks - 1 year, if it goes for more than a month or 2 go 2 the doctor and get pills to dry it up. |
