Collect unemployment while caregiving? |
I had to quit my job to take care of my mom who is extremely sick. Could I still collect unemployment? And if I can, do I need documentation? I live in California. Thats not true you still can, just explain you didnt have a choice or you thought it would be useless to work out a "leave of absence" because she is so sick, maybe you can call your last boss and tell him/her you didnt mean to leave without talking with him first, so that when unemployment calls him he will ok the benifits. Im not sure but i dont think you need proof or documintation that shes ill. Here is a web page i found that is helping me, iam about to do the same for the same situation.-Good luck Cindy! No. You quit your job. Quitting for family or personal reasons is not sufficient grounds for collecting unemployment. |
