Cervical Cancer Treatment - true or false? |
Is it true that if you get cervical cancer, you have to have 'down below' burned up and u can never have kids? Is this true? Its a well known rumor gong around my school and i wanna know once and for all I am a survivor of cervical cancer (3 years now) They did two coning procedures which is taking pieces of the cervix out little by little. Remove enough of it and you will not be able to carry children. I had deeply invasive cancer and opted for a hysterectomy. I was given a choice to preserve fertility and have children and treat it with chemo and/or radiation. I at 36 chose to have full surgery not chancing that the cancer would spread to another organ which it would have according to my doc. I am a firm believer of the vaccine out there today. If it can save one life I believe everyone should get it. Unfortunately for me it came out a year too late. Do not listen to rumors if in doubt ask questions just like you did. The cervix keeps the baby inside while pregnant if you get cancer of the cervix it is often removed and sterility can result but as for burning apart from cauterizing blood vessels no burning takes place surgery does then maybe radiation therapy and chemotherapy follows. So the vaccine now available a good idea. |
