What are the chances that I have cervical cancer?

My boyfriend and I were both virgins when we first had sex and we've only had it two other times. The last time was three months ago. He has no diseases at all. My period is supposed to be within the next five days days but I've had minor pelvic pain and back pain. Could be period aches as I always get them this early. I'm a hypochondriac so I naturally think something is wrong with me.

I know that the chances of me having cervical cancer are very very slim but I want to know an estimate of my chances?

Oh and lately when he's fingered me I've been rather in uncomfortable positions with my legs. No I'm not pregnant either. :)

I don't think I can give you specific odds as I don't think there are statistics specific to your case. However, I think it is unlikely.
It is more likely that you may have an infection and possibly pelvic inflammatory disease. I would wait until my period started and see if the pain clears up. If it doesn't, go see a doctor. Planned Parenthood is a good resource.

You are correct that your chances of having cervical cancer are extremely small. It is caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) and girls can be vaccinated against this BEFORE first sexual activity.

In Australia all girls are now being vaccinated by the government. It might be wise to vaccinate boys too, but this has not been decided.

Sexually active women and girls can protect themselves by always using condoms, and reducing their exposure to the virus by avoiding multiple partners, especially promiscuous partners. [This is NOT a moral judgement.]

They can also have regular pap (short for Dr Papanicolaou) smear tests, which should pick up the early precancerous changes in the cells. Once every 2 years is the standard in Australia.
