Question about cervical cancer??

can u just randomly get cervical cancer without like having sex or whatever??

I had cervical cancer in 1986. I was 25.

I got it because a long time ago, there were some women who were given some kind of a drug during their pregnancy that is believed to be the reason for some cervical cancer cases around that time. I was told that several women who were all about my age were showing up with cervical cancer. It was linked to that drug that was given to women during their pregnancies back when.

It is also now known that women who have several sex partners are more prone to getting cervical cancer than those who don't.

I never had "several" sex partners. In fact, at the time of my cancer, I had only the one guy that I had been with and that was it for a very long time.

Be careful. This is serious stuff. When I was diagnosed, I had a healthy gyn check up in Jan of 85. Then, in July of 85, I felt like I was pregnant, I went to the dr and was diagnosed with stage 5 cancer in my cervix. I got a 2nd opinion, and it showed the same results. I was lucky because they were able to get it all with a cone biopsy surgery. I am now 46 and still good. (Hopefully).

i have cervical cancer and my doctor told me i got it because men carry hpv from a previous partner (not effecting them) and give it to women. ive never heard of a virgin w/ cervical cancer. my doctor actually told me it was very rare for me to get because im only 19

I have cervical cancer and got tested 3 times for HPV b/c most cases are caused by that and I didn't have HPV .. so mine is genetics..
