Cervical Cancer shot vs. this year's flu shot..? |
are they similar? i got the flu shot and the nurse went 1 2 3 and it was finished and it felt like someone took a lead pencil and lightly stroked my arm. it was not painful AT ALL one bit. fast and easy. i am getting 3 shots this summer and im SPAZZING. shots have always scared me, and im hoping they are all like the flu shot. i've heard the cervical cancer shot hurts like heck. seriously like im so scared. i want to know what its like and if its like the flu shot. is it? can someone tell me what its like? I don't know if it hurts or not, but please go get it. It could save your life. I got an annual flu shot, tetanus booster, and the first cervical cancer shot during my annual physical last year. The Gardasil shot was the most painful, but it really wasn't that bad. It was not much worse than either of the other two. i don't know about the flu shot because i've never had one, but gardasil (cervical cancer shot) isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. they can put it in your hip or shoulder (i recommend hip). the needle isn't too bad, just a prick, the medicine going in doesn't hurt, it just feels weird, and you're a little sore afterward. that's pretty much it. i'm horribly afraid of needles too, and i didn't think it was that bad. I am a fainter and a sook, and I coped fine with the shots. The shots themselves are not painful in the least. If you have a history of reactions to inoculations, expect a little discomfort, but nothing major. I had flu type symptoms for a few days after the second one, and a lump, but that is so much better that have HPV or cervical cancer! Well the flu shot can go into the fat tissue of your arm. The cervical cancer shot has to go in the muscle and that's why it hurts more. However if you tell the nurse that you've got a needle phobe, they can try to make it as quick and painless as possible. Sometimes it's possible to combine the shots together into less shots. ok i was always scared of shots and im 20 and just last week had my last gardasil vaccination and IT hurts, maybe because im a baby but i mean it hurts because it stings for like 1 minute after it goes in, and the arm becomes sore for up to 3 days after. Truthfully.. yeah, it's going to hurt a bit. It's a sharp object going into your skin and squeezing stuff into your body. But, you gotta do what you gotta do :] I felt a weird tingling/ numbness in my arm. It took 5 or 6 min to go way. It was not a very pleasant experience for me...I also hate needles. However its worth it! Finished all my shots Not too bad, what hurts a little is after the shot (next day) but nothing some Tylenol or Advil can't handle. I just got my 3rd cancer one a month or so ago... |

It's a quick pinch and a slight sting. Lasts about 5 seconds. ...Depending on the level of dysplasia. If your pap smear showed abnormal cells it will also give a level or grade. I'd be really pissed at your g/f if she took the vaccine without being COMPLETELY HONEST with her doctor who she talked about the vaccine with. She should talk to a doctor asap. Also rea... Nope! You had an injection that prevents against HPV, the virus that causes most cases of cervical cancer. You get HPV through genital -> genital contact, not through masturbation. You've g... |
