If a women already has hpv does gardisal get rid of the virus or just helps with the cervical cancer?

Gardisal helps prevent 4 strains of the hpv virus. These viruses can cause cervical cancer. It helps prevent hpv therefore helps prevent cervical cancer that is caused by hpv. It doesn't cure the virus or help if you already have cervical cancer.

it does not treat any preexisting infection or prevent cervical cancer if the woman has already been exposed to high risk hpv. what it can do is prevent her from getting other strains that she may not yet be exposed to. gardasil prevents 4 types of hpv, most people do not have all 4 so it may still be helpful to get vaccinated if you already have hpv though it is not nearly as helpful as when given to a young girl not yet exposed
